Hi food friends,

I hope everyone had a great Hallo-weekend! But, as much fun as it was to have Halloween on a Saturday, the calendar page has flipped and holiday season is officially upon us.

November is huge for the food-obsessed crowd, and many serious cooks have probably already started thinking about their Thanksgiving preparations — the AJC Food team certainly has.

We kicked off the week with a simple and easy stuffing recipe by Candy Hom for this week’s 5:30 Challenge, and we’ll have several more coming over the next three weeks. And, of course, we have plenty of Thanksgiving-related recipes in the archives. If you need help finding something specific, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

For those a little less excited about the cooking aspect of Thanksgiving, we’ve got you covered, too. Keep an eye out for the places taking Thanksgiving catering orders and the restaurants that will be open for service on Turkey Day. At least one new option was added to the Atlanta restaurant scene this year with the opening of Mastro’s Ocean Club downtown.

The AJC Food team isn’t trying to compete with the Butterball Hotline, but we’ll be here for you through the holiday season. Need a restaurant recommendation for picky eaters visiting from out of town? Or some tips for serving dinner to 25 people after your guest list ballooned out of control? Send us an email or reach out on social media — unlike those picky eaters, we want to make your life easier.

You can reach out to me directly at henri.hollis@ajc.com with tips, thoughts or questions for the AJC’s food and dining team.
